They worked hard and spent many long hours raising money to sponsor all sports in the unit except the varsity sports of football, basket¬ ball, and volleyball. We, the students, realize that without this support from the Booster Club our sports program would have been very limited and only available to those students at the varsity level. In appreciation of this interest and support we thank you. “CLASS OF 1978” SUPERINTENDENT 7 . Ibv-L + J Congratulations to the class of 1978! CLASS PROPHECY We have waited ten years now and have decided to take a short glance back at the GREAT CLASS OF ’78.” We grabbed a taxi in the metropolis of Maroa, and our taxi driver just happened to be RICK LANE, who is now the owner of a fleet of 78. LINN SUMMERS was the head driver. We drove by the YMCA where GREG TOTHERO was practicing for the summer Olympics. Next we saw AMY WARNER who promised to guide us with pride through Maroa to see where all of our old friends live. We saw PENNY GREUTMAN who was not completely cents-less,” shooting trap. LISA HILL was running the gun club. We noticed that Lisa had become pretty scorched” from the sun. On down the road we came to a nursery where MILLER BRASHEAR worked. He said he was really getting into gardening. We went to the train station where ELLEN GARDNER was asleep behind the ticket booth. We stopped to talk to JACKIE VOTAW who was leaving on a trip to Mexico. On board the train we saw JILL VINCENT, who was the conductor. LINDA SMITH was yelling all aboard,” so we hopped on. A few seats over we saw TAMMY TERRY. She told us that she had just started a pom pon clinic in Illinois and is very happy with her job. She tells us that it’s strictly routine.” We arrived in Chicago and decided to rent a car. We stopped at Garrett’s Gas Station” where, who other than, MIKE GARRETT filled it up. He told us the Chicago Bulls are having a very successful season. We learned that GARY BORWN and RICK FOMBELLE are starters. Gary had just recently won the NBA Most Valua¬ ble Player of the year award which shows that Rick is still getting ripped off.” We decided to go to a game that night, and in the stands we saw ANDREA REESER and JOY SRONCE. They told us they are avid Bull” fans. They study every move they make. MARK HAENNY was also there, and he told us that he is the Bulls’ personal lawyer. Just recently Mark completed his book entitled, What It Takes To Be a Man.” Our next stop was in New York where we found BRIAN DEES and RICK SHIREY, who are the wizards of wall street. They told us things are looking bad though. Just recently APPECO went broke. For lunch we went to Joe’s Cafe” which is run by JOE HULVEY. He told us he got all his food from KATHY AUSTIN’S grocery store which is right across the street. We moved on to the New England coast where we found a string of lighthouses run by DAVE FAULKNER. Every night when it get foggy you can hear the foghorns going W-H-A-A-A! It was Sunday so we decided to go to church where SCOTT MAYBERRY was preaching. JANET KENNISON was in there, and she told us that she was doing just fine. She is still in school, but we always knew Janet loved it so much. We saw JODY BAKER and RON FRAZIER painting all the scenic views of the East. Their personal chauffeur is D LEE ADAMS. Jody and Ron are world famous painters now. KENNY BUTLER and JOHN NEWELL have their own motorcycle shop and NANCY MCDANIELS is one of their best customers. She has become a real dare-devil” rider. In Florida we see DAVE PULLIAM who was the proud owner of Sleek’s Bait Dolphin and we saw that BARRY BLUNDY is co-starring with him. Little KEN UNDERWOOD is in charge of all filming. We heard that CAROL LECHLEITHER and MIKE LOCKLER live in Florida, too. Carol is a nurse and we were told that she is trying to nurse Mike back to health. Down on the beach we saw LINDA SHOEMAKER teaching volleyball to several kids. KEVIN MILES was help¬ ing her out. On the news that afternoon we heard that MONTI HARRIS had just shot 78 free throws in a row while his manager, DENNIS KOEHLER, brought him water between each shot. This news bulletin was presented on the Green Hornet” radio station, on which Dennis is a part-time disc jockey. Monti told us that KAREN THICKSTEN and DAVE BRUCKNER are now living in Texas. Dave is a profes¬ sional Cowboy, now, and Karen is cheering him on as a Cowgirl! 35 Dave told us that GARY GALLOWAY spends all his time in the neighborhood spa keeping fit and trim. We went to the spa and found that STEVE O ' RILEY was the personnel manager, and he is becoming very inter ested in one of T.H.E. stewardesses. We later got on a jet and departed for Oregon. Upon arrival, we saw CHUCK HILL leading a few “munch- kins down the yellow brick road to education. He seemed to be doing a very good job. We found CHERYL HACKETT there, where she is married to a lumberjack. It seemed that Cheryl still man ages to Hack-it. Our next stop was Las Vegas, Nevada, where JERE SCHULER is a professional comedienne. He was driving everyone hysterical. He’s obviously not just another “buckethead! A few blocks down we visited DENNIS BURKE who was practicing for his show which was to be held that night. We understood he works at it all DAY!” Dennis told us how successful LEWIE SILL is in Wyoming. The last time he heard from him, Lewie was the proud owner of the “Super Stud” Ranch. BRIAN CUNNINGHAM and JERRY FENTON are raising the feed for Lewie and his cattle. Up in Montana KIM DASH is in the fur business but we hear she ' s “bear-ly” making it. We decided to head toward the mountains and who, to our surprise, who did we find but DAVE ROTZ and PAUL CROWELL. They seemed to be right on top of things. But, weren’t they always? Traveling back towards Illinois we stopped in Topeka, Kansas, where PATTY BATCHELDER lives with her husband, Dennis Cullison. They have a son named KILLER” but we found out he’s only harmless. We finally reached Illinois again and stopped in Eldorado where SUE BARLOW lives. She is an enthusiastic fan of Eldorado High School. Every Friday night she can be seen watching her favorite player, Eddie Lane. There was a news flash on the radio that said that KATHY MARLEY and her horse had just won the Kentucky Derby. We learned that her sponsor for the event was BUTCH PATTERSON who owns “Butch’s Bowls,” a quaint little shop in BOWLing Green. We arrived in Decatur where ROBIN GRISSOM was still working at Osco Drugs. She had been promoted to head cosmetician. She has created a new line of cosmetics for which she has been highly acclaimed. KRIS EDGETT and JAY HILL are co-managers of Turnstyle. They are constantly competing with TED CLARK, who is manager of K-Mart. DOUG PERKINS has his own little boot shop. It’s called “Poiken’s Boot Shoppe.” We made our last stop at the home of JANET EAGLER where she and Brent have a set of twins. They are both working for Parker Brothers, and seem to be doing very well. A news bulletin came on the air telling of JEFF LAZELL ' S victory in the INDY 500. BOB RUNYEN was a close second with his “posrty” Nova. We took a final look at our old alma-mater and wondered what we ' ll be doing in another 10 years. The world may never know.
