CLASS PROPHECY It is now the year 1986, and we decided to look up some of our old classmates. We got on the nearest Am- Trak, and started for Washington, D.C. When we arrived, we saw MARCIA NORMAN, who is now a well- known millionaire besides being head nurse at General Hospital. Touring the hospital, we saw nurse LISA MYERS in the delivery room. She had just helped in the delivery of CYNDIE AND TERRY HOFFMAN ' S fifth child. Congratulations??? In the hospital lab we saw who else but the mad scientist TOM JENNINGS and his assistant JAN KELLEY still trying to find a cure for the wearing out of good school books. Hurrying out of the hospital lab, we decided to pay a visit to the White House where we saw president BEN WALTERS. Ben was out in the presidential pool doing some ice fishing while his first lady, CINDY WEYEN, cheered him on. Our next stop was New York City where the big attraction in Times Square was ALAN BROWN and Midnight Highway. His Go-Go girls were CHRIS BURNS and LORI FEAR. CHRIS also is pqominent in women ' s golf while LORI has finally bought her own newspaper company. Walking down the street, we saw KIM PAYNE, she sure is looking Younger ' ' -every day! We talked to KIM and she said that RONDA McKIRAHAN is now back in Georgia where she has her own chain of beauty shops called Harpers Boutiques! We saw BUTCH MASHBURN on the street corner and as we talked to him, he constantly bragged about his Bobby -socks business. Our next stop was Manhattan where we saw the well-known photographer GREG SULLIVAN taking pictures of the well-known model SHARON DUCHARME. Maybe high school activities do pay off! These pictures were appearing on the cover of the Rolling Stone. SHARON told us that CARRIE CRABTREE is now an actress on location in Egypt filming none other than Cleopatra. Manhattan was a little crowded so we decided to go to Hollywood, California. Out on the beach we saw TINA HARRIS soaking up that California sun. Her roommate in her apartment is DAWN EAGLER. DAWN was in her room still trying to make that big decision. We didn ' t get to see her, but we wish her all the luck in the world. Later our Am-Trak stopped at Warner-Brothers studio, where we found dashing director RICK LOHMAR prod¬ ucing a new sequel to the movie Jaws. It will be called Piranha. Leaving that gory scene, we came to the Johnson Johnson Manufacturing Co. President DAVE ALEXANDER even offered us a free tour, but we didn ' t have the time. Maybe some other time, DAVE. As we stepped out, we ran into TAMMY LUSTER. She told us the life in California could really be Bland. One night we dined at an exclusive nightclub where TERESA BARNETT was the main attraction telling the same jokes she told in high school and still getting great laughs out of them. In this nightclub we ran into TIM MULLINS, who is now doing a sequel to the movie Fists of Fury; it will be called Hands of Hercules. The nightclub turned out to be a very in place and we decided to stay for the entertainment. FRANK SHOFNER turned out to be the bouncer in the club. We guess that 4 years of football really do help! As the band came on to play, the lead singer was PAUL DUNCAN. PAUL was replacing the star who was ill, and, of course, that star was none other than Edgar Winter? Who knows maybe PAUL has a new career. We also saw JIM MILLER who is now a professional light man and crew director, but now he ' s working for Edgar. Well, the nightclub got a little crowded so we started off again. We traveled through many states in search of all our old classmates. In Louisiana, we saw DARLA EDWARDS who is the proud owner of her own chain of Long John Silvers? In Colorado we saw BRIAN SHOOKMAN who is now raising his third Foster child. From BRIAN we learned that MARTI HAINES has just gone to the Olympics. All those years of flip-flops really paid off for her. Before we left Colorado, we stopped in an art store and saw a beautiful painting. Then we noticed that the name of the artist was BECKY OLDFIELD. BECKY is now married, but she finds time to draw when she ' s not driving around in her Super Bee. DIANE BLAZER is now the manufacturer of Mann jeans. We are really proud of her! 26

It JULIE LAZELL, bequeath to my brother, Jeff, all the good times I never had in hopes he will have more. It MARK LECHLEITER, bequeath my persuasive ability to Mr. Ritter, to use as he sees fit. I, RICK LOHMAR, bequeath my ability to get out of all study halls and any other class I can to Steve Oliver. He shows great potential. I, BUTCH MASHBURN, bequeath my KISS albums, the ability to pump ’em in, and to deny to Churt Young so he can jam the inside. If DEBBIE MATHEWS, bequeath my quietness to Brenda Street. If RHONDA McKIRAHAN, bequeath my ability to work at Ronald McDonald’s to Nanner Montgomery, and also to the longest yard. I» JIM MILLER, bequeath a car to Ed Walters. I, TIM MULLINS, bequeath my sound mind and body, my muscle build, physical prowess, speed, agility, the form of Jett Kune Do, and one set of NUNCHARU’S to the Underwood brothers who probably need it more than anybody. I, LISA MYERS, bequeath to Karen Thicksten all the good times I had my last two years so she won’t miss our class too much and a pair of elbow pads to Kris Edgett. If MARCIA NORMAN, bequeath my ability to keep alive to Kim Kitchens and Randy Huffman because at the jate hey are going now they will never make it. I, BECKY OLDFIELD, bequeath my ability to make it through four years of high school to my sister, Leslie, because I think she is going to need it. I, KIM PAYNE, bequeath to ten of my friends the happiness without her. I, SHARON PETERSON, bequeath to any freshman four years of going to the library without ever being kicked out. I, DAVE PRYDE, bequeath my ability to smash people in football to Les Day so he can cancel some of the opponents. I, MIKE PULLIAM, bequeath my abilities to anyone who can figure out what they are. I, TAMMY RAVENSCRAFT, bequeath one yellow ribbon to Marsha Lienhart so she can wear it in her hair when she sings Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree. I, FRANK SHOFNER, bequeath my muscular body to my little brothers who need it. I, BRIAN SHOOKMAN, bequeath a pair of ear plugs to anyone in Mrs. Coen’s homeroom next year so they don ' t go deaf from listening to the announcements. I, JEFF SLUNDER, bequeath my ability to write a will without it being censored to anyone who needs it. I, GREG SULLIVAN, bequeath my height to Mr. Ritter to give to someone so he will have a tall ball player next year. I, ANDY TSCHAPPAT, bequeath to my little sister, Carol, my great talent for getting al ong with teachers. I, LARRY TYNAN, leave . . . out the front door, of course. I, JUNE WAELTZ, bequeath to Marcia Norman my partial ability to paint. The two of us put together would make a great artist. I, BEN WALTERS, bequeath all the senior class school spirit to all the other classes for pep assemblies. I, CINDY WEYEN, bequeath my four years of fun at MFHS to my sister, Patty. I, DIANA WHIT ACRE, bequeath to my sister, Pam, the ability to get along with most of the teachers in her four years of high school. I, TIM WILSON, bequeath my ability to overhaul a motorcycle engine to Kenny Butler. I, RON YOUNKER, bequeath one log chain to Mark Lechleiter.

LARRY TYNAN was seen on the streets with a well-known older actress, but we always knew LARRY liked older women! MONTY GRUETMAN and his wife are now the owners of their own chain of motels. Stopping for lunch in McDonalds we recognized RICK BLUNDY. RICK is now a manager, but we couldn’t talk him out of a free quarter-pounder. After lunch we stopped in a gas station and found the manager of it was BRET COFFMAN. BRET told us that he and CHRIS BRAGG were now in a gas war. We couldn’t believe gas was only $2 a gallon here. We talked to BRET and found that JULIE BUTLER is now working as a maid for a very wealthy family. She applied for another job, but her employers wouldn’t believe she really was a ’’butler.” We ran into TERRI BRENNING at the bottom of Pike’s Peak. She said, ’’After 10 years I’ve finally conquered a Hill. Now I’m going for a mountain. ” TERRI told us that RON YOUNKER has gone into business with his best friend Mary Jane. TIM WILSON is now the proud owner of his own motorcycle shop, and right next door MATT GREENE has his own Afro Styling shop. Both of them are looking very well. ROSE AND ROBIN BROWN are still together and now they own their own restaurant, called ’’Brown’s Jug.” Right next door RICK EDGETT owns a drive-up liquor store. Let’s hope it is successful. We decided to start on our way back to beloved Maroa. Driving down the road, we saw a knife manufacturing plant owned by JULIE LAZELL called ’’Spears, Inc.” Now we only had a few more people to look up, and we thought that we would never find them. However, they all turned up as we went back to our old hometown. Maroa seemed the same except it was our class run¬ ning it. RANDY LANTER is now mayor, and DEBBIE MATHEWS is his secretary. MIKE PULLIAM is mayor of Forsyth and he has DIANA WHITACRE as his secretary. Looks like high school did pay off for some! JEFF SLUN- DER owns the A P in Maroa and ANDY TSCHAPPAT is a pilot for Maroa Airlines. JUNE WAELTZ owns the new pizza parlor in Maroa called ’’Procarones. ” SHARON PETERSON used her Home-Ec talent and is now a teacher at M.F.H.S. MIKE DUBSON is at home in Maroa still trying to write a best-selling novel. KAREN CHANEY is staying at home these days because she doesn’t have any bones left to break. MARK LECHLEITER is Maroa’s new pharmacist and he really seems to know what he’s doing. Finally we saw DAVID PRYDE who now owns Flo-Mar, the biggest store in Maroa. Well, it’s been a long trip and we hope we haven ' t missed anyone. It was great hearing about everybody and seeing how much 10 years can change them. We decided to hold a class reunion very soon and everyone prom¬ ised to come so we’ll be looking forward to that. We ' ve brought back many memories and we will treasure these forever, but maybe we’ll hold off our next trip for about 10 years! 20??? Wonder what we ' ll be like, in say 50? . . .?
