We have done our best in trying to make this, the 58th annual published at Maroa-Forsyth High, the best ever. Many times through the year we wondered if we would get all the pages in on the deadline. But the great cooperation of our staff and of our dedicated advisor, Mrs. Coen, enabled us to do so. He came to Maroa in 1948, a recent graduate of Millikin University, to coach not only football, but also basketball, baseball, and track as well as to teach American History, World Geography, and Boys Physical Education. Throughout his 24 years at MFHS he touched the lives of hundreds of students with his dedication and devotion, his sincerity and patriotism. He brought life and relevance to the events of American History; he coached his teams in sportsmanship and instilled the will to win. Perhaps his greatest thrills were coaching his 1961 football team to an undefeated sea¬ son and assisting Coach Herman Edwards in leading the 1957 basketball team to the Sweet Sixteen. To the memory of a great coach and teacher, the Senior Class of Maroa-Forsyth High School dedicates the ’72 Trojanaire. Wa£hyv D.
