It’s the time when we realize we ' re on our own. It’s 1965. We remember when we were Freshmen And when Homecoming came around, How girls were red with lipstick; And trousers hung somewhere in town. Then came our prosperous Sophomore year When we sold our Christmas trees, And gained experience from upper classmen To pep up the faculty. As we entered M.F. our Junior year. We held our heads high Because just another year from then It ' s M.F.H.S., good-bye. But now we ' re Seniors. We’ve spent our time. It’s good-bye faculty, good-bye friends, And good-bye old M.F. High! by The Senior class wishes to express our thanks and appreciation to our Sponsors Mrs. Wm, Berry and Mr. Dennis Campbell and also to our parents. CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1961 the 72 members of our class entered the sacred halls of Maroa-Forsyth High School as lowly fresh¬ men. As class officers we chose Bob Crouch, President; Le- tha Grissom, Vice-president; Norene Luallen, Secretary; anc Bob Hinkle, Treasurer. Our Homecoming candidates were Carol Walters, Pam Katchmar, Sam Eubank, and Sam Etnier During the year we lost Jo Bayne, Judy Weltmer, Patty Prit¬ chett, and Alice Smith. As Sophomores we started the year by electing officers as follows: President, Letha Grissom; Vice-president, Steve Johnson; Secretary, Donna Etnier; and Treasurer, Stephanie Terrell. Candidates for the Homecoming dance were Carol Walters, Tonda Murphy, Steve Morgret, and Steve Ward. We won third place with our float, No Room for De-Feet . During the year our class lost Ed Wattles, Donna Cunningham, Janie Cook, Linda Malone, Sam Etnier, and Pam Katchmar. We gained Sue Wilson and Kathy Glasco. In August, 1963, we entered this revered institution of learning as mighty upperclassmen. Our officers that year were President, Norene Luallen; Vice-president, Roger Sherrill; Secre¬ tary, Bonnie Blazer; Treasurer, Sandy Ray; and Reporter, Letha Grissom. We chose as our Homecoming candidates Bonnie Blazer, Donna Dial, Bob Crouch, and Steve Morgret. We won first place with our float Expecting Victory . Our class play was a mystery-comedy entitled Finders ' Creepers . The main event of our Junior year, of course, was our Prom, the theme of which was Date With An Angel . During the year we lost Jean Garren, Ken Paceley, Betty Reed, Dianne Osgood, and Roy Stacey. We gained Roger Sherrill and Betty Van Zandt. We entered our last year with 59 students. As Senior Officers we chose Bob Caplinger, President; Bob Hinkle, Vice-president; Lynda Tozer, Secretary; and Steve Ward, Treasurer. Looking forward to our last Homecoming dance, we chose as candidates Lynda Tozer, Steph anie Terrell, Bob Caplinger, and John Lercher. Unfortunately, our Homecoming float, Rockin ' to Victory , failed to place. The Senior Class play, Headin ' for a Weddin ' wa a great success. During our last year we gained Jack Plappert, John Lercher, and Bob Rush and lost Sandra Doss. We would like to express our gratitude to the faculty of Mar¬ oa-Forsyth High for their great patience and perseverance in teachings these past four years. OASS PROPHECY MIKE BENNETT is the manager of a dance studio. He teaches all the latest dances; specializes in teaching the jerk. JOHN BERRY has been trying to climb the stairway to success, but Nancy just won ' t let go of him! GARY BINGAMON is the owner of a very successful chain of fruit and vegetable stands. His dreams have all come true! BONNIE BLAZER just started high school again. She wanted to be behind Richard for a change! NANCY BLAZER is following in Mrs. Berry ' s footsteps. That is easier than you may think. She has connections! BETTY BOOHER is the head of M Boo ' s Driving School. She hasn ' t lost any money yet, but the students are getting fewer and farther between. STEVE BRADEN is still taking chemistry under Mr. Fentem. It ' s not his fault though. His lab partner doesn’t know anything! GARY BRELSFOARD is a big movie star. He usually plays a boy of about twelve. You ' d think he would be insulted, but . . . WILLY BROWN is quite a well-known beautician. He ' s still using Ruby as a guinea pig. JAMES CAHILL hasn ' t said one word in ten years. He never was much of a talker, but this is ridiculous! BOB CAPLINGER is still in high school. He ' s trying to make up all the Mondays he missed! LARRY CARDER still says girls are his main hobby. Hope he ' s carefull-- girls aren ' t good for married men. PAT CARRIER is working as a service station attendant. She and Charlie are saving for their very own station. LARRY CLARK is a famous race car driver. He hasn ' t made it to the Indianapolis 500 yet, but he is very well-known in Maroa. BOB CROUCH is teaching English at M.F.H.S. I hear Mrs. Maxwell had a lot of in¬ fluence on him. BOB DEAN is a real man about town. He just hasn ' t been able to find the right girl. DONNA DIAL hasn’t been on time once in her life. Her motto is: If at first you don ' t succeed, give up! SANDY DOSS is still taking Home Ec. at M.F.H.S. Her motto is: Practice makes perfect. DONNA ETNIER is one of Boo ' s best students. However, nobody can convince Donna that cornfields don ' t have roads through them. SAM EUBANK is a marriage counselor. He knows all about it! KATHY GLASCO is still trying to snag a B.M. guy. At the rate she ' s going, she may be trying forever. TANYA GREESON is a band-leader. We didn ' t even know she liked music. LETHA GRISSOM and her sisters are singing professionally now. They put Maroa on the map. We ' re forever grateful! STEVE HALICKI is still the smartest guy M.F.H.S. has ever seen. They ' ve finally let him start teaching. JANE HARRINGTON is trampling up and down the halls of M. F. H. S. Spare those floors, jane! BOB HINKLE is trying to joke everybody out, but we know he is the real Santa Claus. STEVE JOHNSON will soon take the place of Jackie Gleason on T. V. He only has to gain 250 more pounds. SHERRY KARNS has her own radio program. It is an hour long show, and Sherry talks the entire time. TREVOR LEACH has just been chosen Mr. America. Yes, he ' s put on a few pounds! JOHN LERCHER has just been named Romeo of the Year for the fifth straight year. Keep up the good work lover! JOHN LORENZ is coaching basketball at M.F.H.S. We always knew he liked basket- ball--deep down inside! NORENE LUALLEN has been happily married for several years now. She was the first to marry, after graduation.
