CLASS HISTORY On a fall day in 1952 the class of 56” started on the high school trail as little Trojans. We were 35 in number and our General was Mrs. Eva Brown. Next in rank we chose Mary Sue Dealey, President, Allan Alexander, Vice President, Donna Marlow, Secretary and Don Wisnasky, Treasurer. During our first homecoming we won third prize with our float, and chose Mary Sue Dealey and Rosalyn Cooper our queen candidates. During this year we gained two new Trojans, Paul Seelbach, Mary Jane Williams and Shirley Pagel, who left at the end of the year along with Dick Kemmerer, and Jim Reed. In 1953 we start the second leg of our journey with 36 members we had gained Nyle Puckett during the summer. Our Officers were Allen Alexander, President, Don Wisnasky, Vice President, Nyle Puckett, Secretary, and Larry Stinson, Treasurer. This year we won first with our homecoming float. Our Queen Candidates were Nancy Parker and Ruth Mcllvenna. Our Christmas Queen candidates were, Mary Sue Dealey and Phllyis Hodges. During the year we gained Dora Hearn and David Lewis. We began our third year as Trojans with 34 in our class. During the summer we had lost Dora Hearn, Nyle Puckett, Clyde Fansler and Luella Killian. Our New Gererals were Mr. Marion Newman, and Miss Mary Ann Melvin. Our officers were Paul Seelbach, President, Don Wisnasky, Vice President, Kathryn Kay, Secretary and Nancy Parker and Jim Flint. Co-Treasurers. We got third place on our float this year and our Queen candid¬ ates were Nancy Parker and Phyllis Hodges. Our Christmas King and Queen candidates were Ruth Mcllvenna, Linda Howland, Bob Lienhart, and Don Wisnasky. We were all very happy when Ruth was selected Queen. Our Junior Play A Boy Named Beulah was a lot of fun in the making. Our magazine sales were a success this year and so was our Prom at the Hotel Orlando. Our theme was How do you Speak to an Angel, During our third year Jim Graupman, Glenn Bush, Roger Higgins dropped from our ranks. As we started our last year in M. H, S. we were 33 in number as we gained Dick Hitchens and Carroll Grindoll during the summer. Our new general was Mrs. William Berry and our other leaders were Paul Seelbach, President, Ruth Mcllvenna , Vice President, Kathryn Kay, Secretary, and Allan Alexander, Treasurer. Our Queen candidates were Ruth Mcllvenna and Mary Sue Dealey. Our senior play Headin ' for the Hills was well liked by all. Now as we near the end of our Trojan Life we look back and find that we have had many happy times which will be remembered by us always. CLASS POEM Our Freshman year Was started with glee. There were no happier Students than we. Our initiation Was loads of fun. There was a prank For everyone. Sophomore year Was next in line. This year, too Was mighty fine. Junior year here. Class rings came; Our Junior play Gained township fame. Seniors at last! Annual plans made. Books to hold memories Never to fade. We won’t forget That very last prom. You went with Susie, I went with Tom. Those last few days Sure went fast. Senior year Just doesn’t last. Here we are standing At the threshold of life. To hold our heads high Through trouble and strife Phillis Hodges CLASS PROPHECY %■ % We are attending the Premiere of the new movie, the ’’Southern Belle. While standing on the sidelines watching the stars make their grand appearances, we see the male star of the show, Stephen Montgomery, the former STEVE ABLE. He started his acting career performing in the plays at M.C.H.S. His leading lady is Jeanette Taylor, the former JAN KAY ARCHEY. We hear she is dissatisfied with her movie career and plans to return to Maroa and settle down to married life with Darrell Weikle. Also co-starring in the movie is Marilyn Mitchell, the former NANCY PARKER, who is married to Paul Seelbach in real life. Next is the director, ED CRABTREE, who for sentimental reasons prefers to keep his own ' ft name. It is rumored that he is on the brink of matrimony for the fifth time. Now from our seats in the audience, we spot more celebrities. First the famous TV star, LARRY STINSON, who has recently taken Herb Shriner ' s place on ’’Two For the Money. ” Seated next to him is JIM FLINT, presi¬ dent of the Flint-Eaton Company, which now sponsors Larry ' s show. Coming down the aisle are DONNA MARLOW and PHYLLIS HODGES, who are well known models. Donna models fashions in Paris and plans to return to Maroa to become the wife of a farmer. Phyllis is a model in New York. Behind them is Professor ALLAN ALEXANDER. He has just received the Nobel Prize Award for his brilliant contribution to the field of mathe¬ matics. PAT ROSE and MARLA KLEPPER are back from a sightseeing trip all over the United States. Marla plans to marry Sonny Lazell after a ten year delay. Following Bob ' s numbers is the comedy act presented by BARR STOUTENBOROUGH. Barr has been thinking of changing his name to Smith since it would be much easier to pronounce.
