MAEMIOM MILITARY ACADEMY ' ■J ' 9- S-r juit5t4f tw ' m ' INTRODUCTION MARMION is a mosaic. A school and a student who attends is evolved by the circumstances of time and place. A campus is not just one building but several. Faculties are formed not in the person of one teacher, but in the cooperative efforts and talents of many. Winning teams are made up of members, not just one athlete. And a MARMION cadet is the result of instruction, cor- rection, training, practice, and devotion. It takes four years to put together the young man that graduates as a MARMION senior. He is composed of scholastic attainments that mold his mind, military training that disciplines and acquaints him with military life, religion that forms and strengthens his soul, sports that make his body healthy. This 1964 issue of the PASS ' N REVIEW is a record of how well these parts of MARMION have been placed together. If the job is done well then the result is a happy whole, fitting and attractive. When the cadet graduates he takes this whole with him and at the same time wills it to those young men who have still to complete their assembly job.

FATHER LEONARD, O.S.B. DEDICATION It is with appreciation that the faculty and cadets of Marmion dedicate this 1964 PASS ' N REVIEW to Father Leonard Lux, O.S.B. Father Leonard is completing his twenty-fifth year in the priesthood. For almost as long, he has been working for the advancement of Marmion. It was in the year 1940 that Father was assigned to begin his career at the academy. A teacher of History, Latin and Religion, he also established the phys ed program and coached basketball. The Marmion Mothers ' Club may boast of twenty-four of Father ' s years in the priesthood in which he served as their moderator. Marmion ' s first bus driver was also Father Leonard. Father now serves the academy as its promotional director. We need not say that the many new buildings which now form the Butterfield Campus are due to a great extent to his tireless efforts. Father ' s one aim yet is to see the academic faculty and material facilities wed in perfect harmony, so that we can have as near a perfect home for boys and a top academy as possible.
