Inner Workings Originally designed for recreational and dining facilities, the RECREATION HALL retains the dining facilities and a small area for recreation. Expansion problems have forced classrooms to encroach on ping-pong, billiards, tele- vision, and the juke box. But we get by. Take a whiff of the smoke on a rainy morning. The man who med to hum the midnight oil now hm iz Jon who harm the gas at midnight. Snugly tucked away on the campus is the BARRACKS, the sleeping quarters for the greater part of the resident cadets. Father Damian and Father Martin hover protective-ly within these walls. 3

Religious, academic, and military courses prepare the boy to become the man. Sports and social activities round out the program to give each cadet a complete education. Admiration for the holiness of Abbot Mar- mionls life and for the soundness of his spirit- ual counsels in the books published under his name influenced the Benedictines in their choice of a name for the present school. Abbot Mannion was born in Ireland in 1858 and died as abbot of Maredsous abbey, Bel- gium, in 1923. In ten years he has brought Marmion fz along the road of progress and expansion.
