Cecilia M. Martucci 9591? West Glenooks Blvd. Glendale, California 91202 1 The Overview '69 f a , 5. fx 1 Dedication To Mrs. Nel Reed - Devoted teacher of the deaf. Mrs. Reed started the first secondary class for the deaf in Los Angeles at Foshay J r. High in 1927 and was its first teacher. Later she became the coordinator of Secondary classes for the deaf until her retirement in 1960. We dedicate this charter year- book to Mrs. Reed with our thanks. We also give our thanks to Miss Short, who began teaching the deaf in 1910 and became principal of classes for the deaf in 1925 and principal of Mary E. Bennett School in 1943. As we look ahead to new horizons at Marlton we remember these teachers who began what we enjoy today.
