In the year 1959 eighty-one green freshmen entered the halls of Marlinton High School. We were so scared it took us all year to get settled, and to help us we chose the following leaders: Karen Galford-President Richard Morgan-Vice President Paul Workman-Secretary Sandy Anderson-Treasurer We finally made it through the initiation and the rest of the year with the help of Mr. Wooddell and Mrs. Killingsworth. We entered our sophomore year a whole lot wiser and with a great feeling of superiority as we got to do the initiating this year. The seniors were our idols and we couldn’t wait to be in their shoes. To get us there, we chose Richard Morgan as our President; Paul Workman, Vice President; Blix McNeill, Secretary; D elm os Barb, Treasurer. We cannot, however, take all the credit. Without Mr. Brill and Mrs. ' currence we probably wouldn ' t be much farther along the way. We were really looking forward to summer vacation that year because the subjects seemed to be getting harder.
