PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Class of 1958, no class has ever had a greater challenge. In a world full of miracles you can take a place. How small or how large a place will depend on how hard you work at your education and your assigned job. I congratulate you on your present attainments and wish for you all of the success in the world. Mr. H. Arnout Yeager 9

M. H. Brooks, Superintendent J. K. Arbogast, Assistant Superintendent ADMINISTRATION All things must end, even good things, and you are now approaching the end of one part of your life. In many ways the last year of high school is the most important of all school years, for it provides a good chance to clarify your thinking about ideals and goals. This last year in high school is an excellent time to overcome personal deficiencies, build needed strengths, and get the most from the friendships and opportunities your high school provides. Soon you will be leaving the protective atmosphere of Marlinton High School, and you must make important de¬ cisions as to jobs, future education, and the responsibilities of adult citizenship. The decisions youmake will probably affectthe rest of your life, for every adult is influenced by his answers to his youthful problems. It is the nature of society for new problems to arise constantly, and the best society can do is to become adept in solving problems. The purpose of your education is to test one idea against another idea, one method against another method, to inquire and to examine until men can know the true from the false. Sincerely yours, M. H. Brooks, Superintendent J. K. Arbogast, Assistant Superintendent 8
