Well, anyway we ' ll get to study scripts at least. Making sure we ' re on our toes are Mrs. Moore and Coach Barton, and frantically trying to make us learn our lines (script lines, that is) is David Mason with his ' ever faithful ' assis¬ tant, Jim Hannah, helping him out. Keeping track of our progress is Frances Astin and counting our pennies is Shirley Mace. We must really be good this year ' cause Pat VanReenan, Shirley Mace, and Karen Williams are sure cheering about something. Of course, they could be yelling ' cause our boys won the class tournament. Those understudies are tops. Quiet in the Wings ! ! ! Gee, our first real practice. Even if we don ' t get our names in lights, we might get to stand-in for someone. Miss Shiffler andMr. Brill are around to cue us in, just in case. Keeping our minds on our script is David Mason, and Teddy McClure is busy keeping David ' s mind on his script. The same girl with a different name (Frances Buzzard) is still taking notes. This year we ' ve managed to make a little money and Marolyn Barlow is trying desperately to get it counted. What ' s all that noise? Oh-just Phyilis McNeill, Karen Williams and Pat Van Reenan applauding for us. Keeping our cheering public posted on our play, STRICTLY FORMAL, was Jon Young. What a play! !! Hard on our low bank account was that fancy banquet we gave the Heroes of 54 but in spite of that, our ' lil ole ' southern belles really sparkled at the Junior - Senior Prom. Great were those Stand-Ins ! ! ! ! ! Curtain Time ! ! ! Press Agents busily typed the program-dashing madly here and there, gathering script-We find Dewey Ross trailing scads of advertising. At last we hit the front page ! ! Tommy Dunbrack checks the entrance cues. Lights out! ! ! We ' re on stage. Frances Astin is in the wings jotting down notes for our later career and Jimmy Hannah is taking care of the ticket sales. Reporting our progress is Annette Rucker and keeping our spirits high are Shirley Mace, Pat VanReenan, and Mary Sue White. Front page news that year was our assembly pro¬ grams, Christmas in Different Lands and The Music of Stephen Fos¬ ter. Even though our prompters Mr. White and Mrs. Bell were necessi¬ ties, we ' ll make actors yet. CURTAIN TIME! ! ! We find ourselves waiting our cues from our new prompters, Mrs. Coyner and Mr. McElwee who keep saying Now, Now, Be Calm--- Don ' t get shook! In one unbelievable moment with a twinge of sadness and a heap of gladness we find ourselves in the lime¬ light. We are the Stars of this Extravaganza! Jon Young steps into th leading role ably assisted by his comtemporarypartner in Dramatics Carolyn Barlow, who is busily orientating herself and us for our premiei appearance by dashing up and down the halls chanting, This Show Must Go On !! Printing our programs for the 1955 performance, Frances Buzzard relaxes long enough to practice her line, What do you know, I ' m a star. The atomic sprite of this year ' s Follies is Marolyn Barlow (The girl with the Cigar Box) whose important lines run on like this: Dead¬ line! Pay Class Dues. PLEASE .-Just a little Ad?? Deadline, Dead¬ line”! No play is complete without a bouncer and Lonnie Ratliff keeps practice period in good order. Sitting on the front row raving about our performance in LINE OF SCRIMMAGE is Karen Williams, Pat Van Reenan and Phyllis McNeill. Macbeth was never like that! To be sure our premier wardrobes are in the best fashions, we had a Style Show and Talent Show! ! And what talent we actors have ! ! ! ! Now for our final dress rehearsal--Graduation. Thus preparing us for Star Roles in our Life Performance.
