I f ' 0 Settc t Piofmzcty • «••• • At a final class party before commencement, the Seniors engaged a gypsy fortune teller. As she gazed into her crystal ball, she saw a calendar for the year 1965 and a parade of familiar faces in strange surroundings wafted in and out of focus. Arol Alderman is seen as the oprator of a swanky night club on Greenbrier Hill called the El Aro. Dale Armstrong, professor of Public- Speaking at Stillwell College has just talked Helen Astin into becoming his wife. Kermit Boggs has just been put in charge of all popcorn machines in the Alpine theatre chain. Kyle Carpenter has just opened up a dude ranch on Jerico Flats. Curtis Carr has finally taken the pool crown away from Willie Hoppe in Madison Square Garden. John Coyner has just completed building a bridge across Grand Canyon. Eugene Cutlip is seen knocking his sixty-fir t home run out of Yankee Stadium. Betty Pennington is the founder of The Pennington School of Beauty Culture in Bronx, New York. Fred Shafer heads his own troop of Hell Drivers currently showing at the Pocahontas County Fair. Patsy Simmons is seen yodeling on the Arthur Godfrey Talent Show. Gazing deeper into the crystal bail we see Patsy Wooddell has dyed her hair red and is star ring as center on the All-American Red Heads. Tom Malcomb has organized a hog-ring factory with Betty Meeks as his very efficient secretary. Boyd Wilfong is head of his own sales department. The crystal ball clouds over and as it clears we see Delores Phillips as a Red Cross Worker in Korea giving coffee and doughnuts to Stanley Me Neill, Keith Morrison and Eugene Wilfong, who are still Buck-Privates in the Infantry. Their company commander is Lowell Gibson. Evelyn Er- vine and Evelene Hannah are completing their tour of inspection in the Womens Marine Corp and Army Nurses Corps in the Far East. The crystal ball next shows a schedule of Televison Programs. Eva Jane Sharp Chesnut is giving advice to Gail Varney on “Why Every Girl Should Be Married.” Alma Pennybacker is modeling dresses for the famous dress designer, Jewell Galford. on Paris Fashions of 1965. Appearing as the successor to Abbot and Costello, Julian Hively and Keith Moore are starred in ' It Pays To Be Ignorant.” The evenings program also shows Eddie Seagraves and his all girl orchestra featuring Janet Morrison and her magic saxaphone and Bonnie Showalter, as the girl with the golden vocal cords. The final performance of the evening lists; Betty Landis and Helen Rogers as the Hadachol dancers. The crystal ball is filled with a swirling mass of fog and as it clears a safari is shown beating its way through the treacherous jungles of the L pper Congo. She sees at its head Jimmie Davis and his faithful wife, Pat McNeill on their way to Christianize a tribe of man-ealing canai- bals. Incidently, the Davis’s first converts in Africa were Chief Big Feet Faulknier and Witch Doctor Herb Morrison. On a previous expedition the remains of Thomas’s Grocery Truck and Guy Jackson were found in one of Tarzan’s juigle traps. Next the ball shows a flitting group of scenes. Jonas Dilley is the new p rincipal of Marlin- ton High School and on his staff are: Zoe Carpenter as Home Ec. teacher, Jo Ann Rexrode as commerce teacher. Sally Buzzard with her husband and five children are seen attending the Drive- In-J heatre at Beckley, operated by Alfred Thomas. The picture is Men Prefer Blonds,” starring Oleta Davis. The Harlem Glob Trotters are enjoying a band of all-stars from Pocahontas County. The Pocahontas all-stars include: Bob Welder, Lee White, Smokey Johnson, Elmer Friel, and Bob Mace. The all-stars are coached by Sam Harper and boast a losing streak of one hundred a and four straight games. Next we see Barbara Moses and Curtis Curry managing a Walgreen Drug Store. They still haven ' t decided whether two can live as cheaply as one. Their sale force includes: Norma Sue McKenny, Wanda Newman, Thelma Burgess, Geraldine Burback, Jo Ann Friel, and Eleanor Jo Gibson.
