Council Considers Changes Cl' i is Mrs. Ramser, council adviser, aids in planning the council's many activities. Bill Rastetter and Leslie Lanzer serve punch to Laura Dye and Robert Spald- ing at the alumni tea. UT M-, ,,,. ....,, Q 1, PA ' M ' T' T ,,,, V ,, V , Paula Conklin, Debbie Chapman, and Leslie Lanzer, the committee for charity drive, count the money collected. 93 Each year four students from every class are elected to Student Council by their fellow classmates with the exception of the senior class, which has five members. The Student Council served as a media be- tween the students and the administration. The Coun- cil met the first and third Wednesday of each month at the school to discuss matters brought to their at- tention. Some of those were school dress policy, a sandwich line possibility, problems at sockhops, and a new method of entering dances. To add to holiday festivities, they decorated a Christmas tree in the auditorium and held an alumni tea preceding the annual Christmas program. The three charities chosen by the Council were Muscular Dystrophy, UNICEF, and the Cancer Fund. Another collection was made for Jeff Ware, who was seriously injured in an accident. Collections for these were made during homeroom period. The Council spon- sored a faculty game with VVINVV radio station, who provided music for the sockhop afterwards. By having an exchange day with members of Louisville's Stu- dent Council, two of the Council members returned with ideas for the betterment of our school. As in previous years, the Student Council presented an award to one student who best exemplified ten attri- butes of citizenship, symbolized by letters of the school's name. lVlrs. Bamser guided the Council throughout the year's activities. Senior council members, Bill, lVIitzi, and Jack, enjoy themselves while decorating the Christmas tree.
