French, Latin, and Spanish have provided a background for many other courses. lVlrs. Louise Bingham successfully challenged her students to express themselves through music. The enthusiasm of the students was evident at the Thanks- giving, Christmas, and Spring concerts. Assisted by lVlr. William Westover, lVlr. James Wald- eck was able to lead the band to new and better horizons. Besides being a major part of the pep rallies and football games, the band traveled to many new places and performed before many new audiences. The informal atmosphere and spirit of cooperation led the students to rewarding results in the art pro- gram. The Department chairman, lVlr. Thomas Haverfield, along with his fellow teachers, lVlr.
