Kay Vaughan Science, Dept Chr., Science Club Adviser, Audio Visual Dep t. Chr. The chemistry program was expanded to meet the growing demands for the knowledge of science. New textbooks were purchased for both the general science and chemistry classes. Each teacher worked with his students to make the Science Fair a great success. IVlany projects were entered by the students of the school. Science has taken on a new perspective and challenge to each student through the instruction ofthe science teachers. instructing the eighth grade in its science program was IVlr. Keith lVliller and lVlr. Kenneth Simpson. lVlr. Kenneth Simpson also taught the physics course and a class on the operations of amateur radio. General science was under the instruc- tion of IVIrs. Grace Hatch and IVlr. Paul Elsass. lVlr. Robert lVlcClain taught general science and biology while IVlr. Craig Barnett taught biology. General science and chemistry were both taught by lVlrs. The coeducational classes were family marriage and money management, both taught by lVlrs. lVlcIlroy, and bachelor living, taught by IVliss Holbein. New semester courses offered to junior and senior girls were tailoring and family foods vvhich were taught by Miss Vessels. lVlrs. Kardos taught inter- ior decorating, and Miss Young and lVlrs. Kamerer taught general home economics. Vocational agriculture helped prepare students for future agricultural careers upon graduation. This department included: horticulture and floraculture, taught by lVlr. Del-loff, tractor maintenance, livestock, and field crops taught by lVlr. Eaton, lVIr.
