Teachers Stress lVlath in Everyday Life This year the mathematics teachers stressed the great signifigance of math in everyday life and actual situations. The goal of the mathematics teacher was not to have the student memorize his work for the day, but to give this student the basic knowledge for attaining further application and understanding. The teachers were constantly building around material already known to the student. lVIr. Carlos Mason and lVlr. Robert Davis, teaching the basic fundamentals of math, set the knowledge in motion. As students progressed further, lVlr. James Sabin and lVlr. Larry lVlarazza introduced the technique of new algebra. In the third stage of learning, lVlrs. Elda lVleese taught geometry and advanced math. For stu- dents who found a particular liking in mathematics or those who found their future's leaning toward this field, lVlr. Robert Moore helped the students achieve the further knowledge they needed in advanced math and Algebra ll. No matter what the students' futures held for them, their knowledge of math, no matter how great or small, will be a part of them. Robert Davis Mathematics, 9th Basketball Coach, Asst. Football Coach

Thus, the teachers stressed this subject greatly. Moments of the past were re-built, torn down, discussed and analyzed so that the student might con- sume the infinite knowledge of mind ages ago. Special techniques, such as: films, lectures, debates, and topic discussions, were used to probe students' minds, to obtain insight of past experiences, and bring into being the association of the past, present, and future. Teachers in charge of this department teach various types of history and other subjects. lVlr.
