Clubs Provide Services Recognition and honor were brought to our school this year through the National Forensic League. '-V .. l ff? his Each month one Senior girl and boy were selected by the Teenager of the Month Committee to repre- sent the school in competition with other Stark County teens of the month. These students were chosen according to character, school and community services, along with leadership abilities. The girls' leaders gave assistance to the physical education classes this year during their spare study halls. The leaders helped grade tests, lead exercises, and demonstrate various rules and positions of new sports. They also helped time, measure, and record skill tests taken by the students. The Parliamentary Procedure Teams brought home first and second place ratings. The F.F.!-X. also joined the State Convention in Columbus, Ohio, and later five delegates were sent to the National Convention in Kansas City, Kansas. After their trips, the delegates showed slides taken at theconvention to the mem bers. For the first time, the club was featured on a local television program. ln this way they explained to the public what their club was doing. They even ex- hibited some of their animal projects on the show. They also sponsored other activities such as tractor pulling, growing corn, making wreaths and door swags at Christmas time, having a banquet, and serv- ing others in the area. Some of the boys aided Mr. Ivan Pauli in cleaning rubbish from his barn which recently burned completely to the ground. One of the more enjoyable events of the club is selecting an F.F.A. queen each year. She must be a member of the club-and is voted by her club mates.
