Boys Keep Active Through Service lggg PROJECTIONISTS-Orus lVliIler, Val Woolf, Herb Hein, Nlr. Vaughan, Ken Shoemaker, Roy Anstine. N'-x , TlTLEl - v Ken Shoemaker keeps equipment running smoothly. Joining Hi-Y was a boy's way of saying that he cared about his community and his world. l-li-Y boys grew in character which gave them the opportunity to aid others. Service projects were carried out with boys assisting the Tuberculosis Association. A basketball clinic for all grade school boys was held with members, teachers, and coaches instructing boys during the day long pro- gram. lVlembers toured the National Pro-Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, finding it inter- esting and quite awesome. Hi-Y boys took charge of the Thanksgiving as- sembly, providing a program for all grades. Along with growing in character, boys kept in shape, spending some evenings at the Y.lVl.C.A. Swim- ming and basketball were two of the sports they enjoyed, and boys found that good sportsmanship adds to a player's ability. Advised by lVlr. Ron Priest, Hi-Y showed much enthusiasm and char- acter. All audio-visual equipment used in classrooms and extra-curricular activities was cared for and operated by student projectionists. These boys knew the equipment they handled and assisted faculty throught the year. Used often by teachers, movies and recordings for science, English, his- tory and other subjects were kept in the audio- visual department. These boys helped faculty greatly by giving their time, talent, and energy.
