Earning a letter in one or more sports enabled a boy to become a member of Varsity M Club. It was an organization showing much pride and better-than- average achievement in all sports. Not only were mem- bers outstanding in athletics, but each had high stan- dards and displayed sportsmanship and school spirit. The club was advised by head basketball coach Roger Schnoke and head football coach Joe Banks. Spirit vvas plentiful vvhen members of Pep Club were around. Students backed players during football and basketball seasons, and vvere always there with an extra boost. Projects included a fall barbershop quartet program, the selling of shakers, victory ribbons, and other spirit-makers during the year. Advised by Mr. Pearson, the club added tremendously to school spirit and student enthusiasm.
