A ik 41- Although it wasn't an outstanding season for the Duke cindermen, underclassmen had the opportunity to gain valuable experience. The Dukes, coached by Walt Headley, placed second in the Stark County Track Nleet, which was held here at Marlington for the first time. MVP Mark l-laubert, top sprinter in Ivlarlington history, had a string of six consecutive triple wins in the 100, 220, and 440 yard dashes. Sophomore Ed Rowland broke the high jump record with a leap of 5 feet 9 inches. The shot-put record fell with a toss of 46 feet 7 inches by senior Carl Battershell at the county meet. ..
