Members of the select chorus, the top vocalists at Marlington, combined talent and hard work to create harmony and add color to their singing. The select chorus sang at religious assemblies at the high school and also sang at the Christmas and Spring Concerts presented by the vocal groups at Marlington. Two outstanding selections from the Thanksgiving assembly this year were This Wond- Q, SRL. drous World and Almighty God. At the Christmas Aw, M9 66 concert the select chorus marched on stage carrying be 1 ?3T 1:5 -' candles and singing Joy to the World. The select X . Providing a boost to en thusiastic school spirit at Marlington, the Pep Band played at home basketball games this year. lt was not unusual to hear the throbbing of the drums and the clash ing of the cymbols in the background of a cheer. The majorettes sometimes demon strated their twirling skills dur ing halftime to add an extra touch to the Pep Band's per formances. QL!! Werstler. K. Shoemaker, K. 1Baith, R, Hull, R. Dietrich, M. Orwick, J. Leidy, B. Hull. ' 65 Drum majorette, Sue Adams, led the majorettes in their performances of various routines. This year the major- ettes performed with flags as well as batons. During the football season, the stadium lights were turned off and the majorettes twirled fire batons. At a basketball game they did a routine using hats and canes.
