The Shield staff did a fine job this year in presenting us our school paper. For the subscription campaign, they made a Shield Shack and sold many subscriptions. The staff was made up of freshmen, soph- omores, juniors and seniors who were alert and quick to get the latest scoop on all our special activities. Doings in Dukedom and other old famil- iar topics appeared in our newspaper. Many new things were also printed in this year's Shield, such as the T.V.l., Typical Village Idiot. Mrs. Hodge helped them work to realize the Christian purpose of the Y W C A in their own community, country, and world. Service projects included making cosmetic bags for the women in Massillon State Hos- pital and preparing a basket of canned food for the Salvation Army. A demonstration on flower arrange- ments and a talk on various kinds of dinnerware were given by guest speakers during the meetings. Karen seeks advise from fellow officers. .-11... . .
