How much do you think she's worth? Latin Club Sold Slaves Members of Latini Socii were students who were taking their second, third, or fourth year of Latin. Meetings were held in the evenings and featured various programs. The sophomores attended both a dignified formal initiation, and the of- ficers conducted a rough welcome for the new members. In February the new members were auctioned off as slaves. The slaves had to obey their masters and serve them as loyal subjects at the Roman banquet in March. Mr. Russell Newburn was a guest speaker this year and showed color slides on Italy and Greece.
