MARLIN VS. BELTON The Dogs were defeated 38-6 in their last non-district game against Belton. A. Davis was the nucleus of Marlin's only TD drive. D. Daniel climaxed the drive with a 20 yd TD pass to J. Drews. MARLIN VS. ATHENS In the district opener Marlin opened with -I. Drews' field goal. Athens raked 15 pts. off Marlin's fumbles. After the Ca- nines drove to the Hornets' 5 yd. line, Athens intercepted, but then fumbled with Marlin recovering on the 6 yd. line. With 17 seconds left, Marlin lost a decisive fumble. Final: Athens 15-10. C. Gude dashed around end for a 16 yd ga Hornet 3 yd line-setting up their only TD

Games MARLIN VS. ROSEBUD-LOTT The Rosebud-Lott Cougars de- feated the Bulldogs in the season opener 14-O. The dogs, only chance for 6 came when D. Grogan drove for a TD-but the TD was offset by an offsides penalty against Marlin. The Dogs were halted by their own fumblesg but the defense showed great improvements during the second half. A. Davis's 35 yd. ramble set up the Dogs' first opportunity for six. Marlin's defensive pride held the Cougars to very few yards rushing. C- G'-ide OH his 35 Yd- Punt fefllfn- MARLIN vs. GATESVILLE L Drles l31j spearheading the Marlin defense during the 3rd period of play. Marlin was on the board late in the lst quarter with J. Drews' 36 yd. field goal. After losing a valuable fumble, the Dogs recovered with D. Daniel connecting C. Gude for a TD. After the Hornets scored in the 4th qt., C. Gude ran 65 yd. for the winning TD. Marlin 16-13

D. Daniel, receiving effective blocking, scampers for a sizable gain. MARLIN VS. LA VEGA The Canines bounced back from their hard taken loss to the Athens Hornets to de- feat the La Vega Pirates 12-7. The Pirates started the scoring with a blocked punt, later turning into a 7-0 lead. The Dogs plunged back 56 yds. for a score, 7-6. D. Daniel op- tioned around end for a 47 yd. TD. The Ca- nines' tight defensive wall kept La Vega from scoring. The Dogs made many dramatic stands late in the 4th quarter, but never broke. The defensive walked off the field a very proud unit. MARLIN VS. MOORE The Moore Lions defeated the Marlin Bulldogs 21-0. All three Lion TD's came from Marlin fumbles. Marlin's defense held the Lions scoreless for the rest of the game. Once again the Canines, defense made many spectacular goal-line stands. An END zone shot shows Marlin repelling the Moore Lions at the 1 yd. line. FB M. Harden l30j is pictured punching through the Lions' defense. MARLIN vs. ENNIS The Dogs baffled the 1-rated Lions by scoring first in the lst. qt. Ennis scored 4 TD's, but Marlin'd defense was up for the last half and Ennis could score only once more. Ennis 33-7.
