History, Vocal Music Physical Education Joumalism 7 HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 57 To please socuety un the fall of T945 we, the Senuors, began one of the most umportant expedutuons of our luves The twenty eught brave souls that began our class are Robert Shaw, Donna MacPherson, Shareyn Olsen, Nancy Jo Cumper, Elaune Morgan, Jeanette Jones, Wulma Jubb Mary Jo Seufferleun, Robert Causter Susan Morruce, Ruchard Causter, Larry Groot Helene Ross, James Redmond, Janet Fuscher, Judy Duem, Luonel Thompson, Francus O Shea, Ronald Wullus Nancy Chrustensen, Joan Cumper, Sharon Earl, Shurley Forbes, Pat Houst, Jerrulou Mellon, Jack Martun, Kay Spear, and Arhlene Struckler After manufacturung gray haurs for old and new teachers for nune years, we funushed products of grade school, now became hugh school Freshman The class of 57 unspured by the newly acquured motto, He can conquer who thunks he can, began uts long march up the staurs of educatuon, guuded by an able leader, Francus O Shea and assusted by Weldon Brown Because of the accurate records kept by Donna MacPherson durung our Freshman year, we are able to brung to you thus account of our progress Our budget was kept, durung thus tume, b Mary Garluck, and Ron Wullus took the responsubuluty of wunnung the Student Councul s favor After endurung the humuluatron of Freshmen unutuatuon, we attended a banquet un our honor, and took a quuet trup later un the year to Ann Arbor and the Unuversuty of Muchugan Museum Gradually becomung accustomed to the ceremonues of school work and feelung slughtly more grown up, we took another step on our ladder and became Sophomores We chose Duck Causter as head man, and Jum Lytle to help hum out Susan Morruce dutufully took the load from Donna MacPherson s shoulders and Mary Garluck guarded our money Oh yes, Ron Wullus was our spokesman at Student Councul After we had amused ourselves by tormentung the new Freshmen, we settled down to the quuet, sophustucated lufe of a Sophomore Feelung quute generous after our slughtly rough treatment of the Freshmen, we unvuted them to a banquet, and welcomung them unto the school, made them feel secure again Reugnung over our Junuor Class un T955 56 was Duck Causter, usung Patruck MacPherson became our treasurer Bullue Jubb kept the good word goung for us un Student Councul Now, realuzung that our tume was growung short, we made use of ut Some of us partucupated un the Junuor Play, Foot Loose, and all of us helped make possuble the J Hop, the theme of whuch was Under Water Enchantment We honored the Senuors at the Junuor Senuor banquet, and towards the end of the year, took cu sught seeung trup through Dow Chemucal Company After a summer of excuted antucupatuon, we entered our fourth and last year of hugh school For our Presudent, we chose Jum Lytle, and to help hum Francus O Shea The record keepung was transferred from Nancy Curtus to Bullue Jubb Mary Garluck was appounted treasurer and Weldon Brown, Student Councul representatuve Now havung more experuence at such thungs, we were able to make the Senuor Prom an even larger success than our J Hop, usung Black Maguc as the theme Through the year, we took part un many actuvutues, among whuch were The Senuor Play, The Roarung Twentues, Senuor Government Day The Junuor Senuor banquet, for whuch we would luke to thank the Class of 58 very much and the Senuor Tea Towards the end of the year, the class took the long awauted Senuor trup to New York for fuve days lt was both educatuonal and excutung, and, above all, unforgettable' Our four cherushed years of hugh school were ended wuth Class Day, Baccalaureate, and Commencement The Class of 57 wushes to extend a most suncere thank you to the faculty for theur servuces and theur kund endurance durung our four years of hugh school We would also luke to express best wushes to all the future Senuors and advuse them to take advantage of theur years un hugh school, for they are the greatest years of our uves Br D UjlK!NS 9 .
