There are only 16 members of that original class left. They are: Helen Bukowski, Helen Fellows, Leo Sullivan,Doris Walker, Vernon Robinson, Don Sullivan, Doris Potter, James Glover, Jean Ross, Don Lichtenfelt, Jeanine Olsen, Ted Laursen, Junior Brown, Dick Dawson, Dorothy Hoagg, and Violet Mezo. ' Four years ago the blue and gray ship set sail in the sea of knowledge, with all freshmen of 1946 aboard. We chose as our captain Leo Sullivan, and his able helpers, Doris Walker and Beulah Cargill. By the end of the year our crew was guiding the ship in a straight and even course. We survived a hard initiation, and passed our exams successfully. In our sophomore year we had Van Burmeister as captain and Fred Williams, Leo Sullivan, and Ruth Landon as assistants. We led the freshmen through the deep waters of initiation. For our Junior year we chose Fred Williams, Leo Sullivan, Lois DesJardins and Van Burmeister to guide the ship. The junior play, J-Hop, and Jr.-Sr. banquet were the outstanding successful achievements which kept us very busy. During our voyage we wandered ceaselessly in the narrow strait of algebra, the Dead Sea of Latin, and while in deep waters we were struck by the Monster Chemistry, but by pouring acids, bases and salts into the water we finally overcame him. ' Now we are nearing the end of our voyage with the competent officers, Fred Williams, Paul Oberlee, Lois DesJardens, and Van Burmeister. Soon our ship will come to the end of its journey, the Senior Prom, the Senior Play, Class Day, Bacculaureate, Commencement and the Senior Trip will be over. As the ship is hoisted onto the drydock we look back to our voyage in the sea of education with fond memories. l D The Class of uso' taken in US7' in S fNllDl?Sor'S0 Fred Williams-President 'There may have been greater men then I, but I doubt it.'
