Taylor There are 44 children in the Fifth Grade, 16 of whom live in the village. In this grade we continue the emphasis on ureading to learnn. We think reading is the subject contributing most to the pleasure and usefulness of our future lives. We read on other readers besides our basic reader, and we completed a work book which develops the many skills involved in the process of reading. Geography teaches nwhy we do what we do?n That means how industries depend upon the natural regions of the country. We study all of U.S. and the Americas in an effort to develop the Good Neighbor Policy. Spelling and writing are just a combination of that taught in the earlier grades Language places emphasis on the ability to express one's self in words before the group and on paper. Band becomes an important activity in this grade for nearly half the group. 'u WT' ,
