The entire school burst with spirit on May 27, 1987 when everyone got together to participate in the first annual Marlboro High School Field Day. The day turned out to be very suc¬ cessful. We all had alot of fun; it was cool. said senior Laura Mclnnis. Students began the day with Simon Says and the Giant Lap Sit, which included almost all the students there. There were so many people in the Lap Sit I didn ' t think it would work, but it did and it was fun. said junior Lauren Heim. Everyone had a lot of fun during the pie eating contest which always turns out to be a good time wheth¬ er you ' re participating or even just watching. Other activities that day included the Apache Relay, Trivia, Baseball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, and other carnival-related games. Cheerleaders let loose balloons which spark the openings of the Birthday Celebration. off to see the wizard As a farewell to the class of 87, mem¬ bers of this year ' s senior class pitched in their time after school to organize a senior reception. The theme of the re¬ ception was the Wizard of Oz. During the few weeks prior to May 29th, sev¬ eral students worked painting and con¬ structing scenes. On the 29th students decorated the cafeteria for the recep¬ tion. That night students came to serve drinks and snacks. Members of the re¬ ception committee also helped set up for a breakfast the following morning and the All-Nighter at the Wayside Racquet and Swim Club. Thanks to the help of Michele Belcher, Julie Dzigas, Karen Gray, Karen Hopkins, Cathy Mangie, Christine Martino, Laura McEnaney, Karolyn Nelson, Jen Ott and others, the reception was a big suc¬ cess. Panther Spirit gone Junior year brought on many excit¬ ing and new activities. School spirit began to shine through at the fir X. rally when the entire school body sported a Spirit T-Shirt with the slo¬ gan WE ARE MARLBORO HIGH printed across the front. As the year progressed, it seemed as though our school became more and more unit¬ ed. On February 25, 1987, Marlboro High School celebrated its tenth birthday. The day ' s festivities were kicked off by a treasure hunt during homeroom. Winning for the Class of ' 88 was Mr. Lambert ' s homeroom. Later in the morning, we gathered in the foyer. As eveyone sang Happy Birthday, the cheerleaders set loose a multitude of balloons. As rock music filled the school, we played Twister, Samurai with Mr. Ludgate, Volleyball, Red Rover and Simon Says. Senior Kevin Guillette said, Everybody was having fun. It was a GREAT TIME! Mr. Morley wishes for another successful ten years at Marlboro High. Karolyn Nelson and Michelle Dumais prepare for the eating festivities on field day. Woody Byrne and friends compete in a game of Hackysack on Field Day.
