THIRTEEN LONG YEARS By R. Polizzi There were several simultaneous walls issuing from the kindergarten. Small children could be seen clinging to the skirts of their departing mothers School was certainly a frightening place to be--especially without mother Oh yes, we've come a long way since that first day of school way back in 1937 Grammar school was a snap to us Remember what fun we had together playing football and baseball? Everyone seemed to get annoyed with us We were the noislest class Marlboro had ever seen We were just as noisy and much larger ln number when we graduated to the second floor The Milton crowd supplied new friends just as mischievous as ourselves There were more seventh graders that year than sophomores, juniors, and seniors combined Eighth grade was fun too we gave our first social that year and a very successful one too However sad memories of a difficult ninth grade return All that homework' But Junior high school was over Oh at last sophomores, and really in high school now Our Junior year found us happily exclaimlng over our new class rings The best looking rings yet, we all agree We floated on clouds through the night of the Junior prom Weren't those heavenly decorations? Weeks of hard work triumphed that night Then suddenly we were seniors The crowning glory of all our school years What fun we had amplifier souads, senior play, yearbook, senior banquet and picnic Remember that feverish last minute studying and catching up on homework? But all that is past here we are at the brink of the outside world Gr duation looms close We are tremendously happy, reminiscent, satisfied, excited, expectant and then suddenly sad to find ourselves leaving behind our old friends and happy times But we'll never forget no, never forget those good times and wonderful friends as we go forth to new experiences and new acquaintances of our bright future ' 1 this year!
