TALES OF TOMORROW There have been a lot of changes since the class of '53 has departed from MHS. We've seen very little of each other. But 'today is our class reunion, beginning with a big feed prepared by jerry Bowman, on vacation from his job as head chef at the Stork Club, under the watchful eye of jean Monter, one of the leading dieticians in the country. If you wish, I'll show you the celebreties as they enter. Better yet, we'll go down to the airport in one of Dale Turners SAFE-T-FIRST taxi cabs. Dale, as you all know, has .received many awards for his safe driving. Over there is the Majestic theater, owned and operated by Jim Webster, who employs 'several of our old classmates as usherette and salesgirl, namely Helen Wittensoldner and Mary Yoder. Rex Duff's academy award winning picture Went With the Breeze is still playing after eight weeks. Over there is the Friendly Finance Co. owned by Bob Ohman. His rates of interest are the lowes-t available. On small loans Qless than one dollarl the rate is five percent. Higher loans have slightly higher rates, f33Wj. There is the marines recruiting officer, Cap- tain John Machamer who served with the 5th Marines in Korea. Henry Sweitzer, the eminent nuclear physicist lives in fthat purple house with the pink roof. Some people think his ideas are a bit peculiar. Connie johnson, one of television's daffiest actresses since Our Miss Brooks lives next door to Mr. Sweitzer, We are going to lose our 'school bus driver Eloise Robinson who plans to get married next month. Bridesmaid is scheduled to be Delilah Frase, Nobel prize winner for her book Just Plain Margie. There is Sharon Greek's house. Sharon, as you know, will leave for Europe in a week 22 where the odds are heavy on her coping the Miss Universe title. Look at that cream col- ored Cadillac convertible! It must be Russell Bergert's, the personal secretary of Henry Ford III. With him is Charles Sketch Goldsmith, a cartoonist for one of New York City's lead- ing newspapers. He got his 'start drawing for the newspaper of MHS. The Ringling Brothers Circus is in town fea- turing Donna Simile.r in a death defying aerial act. Anyway, here's the airport which is owned by jerry Van Camp. That's one of TWA's new jet airliners designed by John Clapsaddle who says he has designed a rocket he will fly to the moon. Leaving the plane is ,lim Van Camp, warden of Ohio State Penitentiary. That's Calvin Green, Chief of Chaplains USNH, with him. Calvin got his start being the chaplain of the Hi-Y Club in 1953. Some of the class will get here only to leave on the next plane. Sally Draa, who -has the fema-le lead in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet leaves for Londo'n. Nancy Baum, America's answer to Vishinsky leaves for U. N. head- quarters in New York, she is t-he head repre- sentative for the U. S. Treva Weingart, the female version of Wal- ter Winchell leaves for New York with Nancy. Here comes Janet Hanlin, the opera star just back from a tour of Europe where she was ac- claimed in all the courts of the continent with ,loan Kritz, the most graceful since Gloria Grahame. Mrs. Ramser is leaving the rest home today. After fthe' strain of ,graduating the class of '53 she suffered a mental collapse. Well I must get back to Mr. McGlone's estate where I earn my livelihood working as a gfardner.
