In the summer, Mr. Mullins, sponsor, Dianne Presley, and Mike Watson, attend- ed the Student Council workshop at Conway. They learned the functions of the Student Council and gathered new ideas for the com- ing school year. As a service to the community, the Student Council lead a drive for St. Jude Hospital in Memphis. As a service to the school, they bought a school flag with the money from the Kampus Kapers, directed by Buz Stuck and entirely produced by the students . Assemblies were a major concern of the Student Council. At the Teacher's Appreciation Day Assembly each teacher was given an American flag. Mrs. L. C. Sanders was honored as Teacher of the Day. She received gifts in recognition of her ser- vices to the school. The other assembly planned by the Student Council was the cam- paign speeches during the Week of Student Council elections . LIBRARY CLUB HALL MONITORS, AND SAFETY PATROL Students voluntarily ossist the Directing traffic on the street to insure the safety of students, and in the halls to keep everyone Where they belong, are services performed by the Hall Monitors and Safety Patrol. The Library is another organ- ization that performs a service for the school. Someone is always in the library to keep records on books , magazines , newspapers , as Well as repair them and make them available to the students or assist in any use of the library.
