It was not just their job, it was a learning experience. They got no pay for their work but they did get credit for their class. Their employer was their teacher who instructed them in the field. Students took R.O.P. classes to see if they really wanted to go into that kind of work. The classes were interesting and the work was only a few hours a day. Many students were enlightened about a field they did not know much about. The classes helped students make up their minds whether or not they really wanted to become what they had thought.
