Dr. Samuel Broadwell, a pasT presi- denT of The Board, underTalces To solve The special problems oT MonTerey Parlc. Irving J. Hancock is a business man, and his pracTical opinions are OT invalu- able aid To The Board. CornpleTing The Board membership is Mrs. Osa McAl- lisTer, also a pasT presidenT. Mrs. McAllisTer has seen The growTh and develop- menT oT The whole area. The Board meeTs regularly on The TirsT and Third Monday OT each monTh. They have Talcen Two ouTsTanding acTions This year. I-lopeTully bids were leT Tor The largesT building program in The hisTory oT The school disTricT. The RepeTTo ElemenTary School in MonTerey Park is now under consTrucTion. IT will house abouT Tive hundred children. Also under consTrucTion is The San Gabriel I-ligh School, which will accommodaTe abouT sevenTeen hundred sTu- denTs and relieve The overcrowded condiTions here aT Keppel. Mr. Bruce M. Lawson, Principal As Mark Keppels lourleenlh year is drawing lo a close, everyone is fallcing aboul The speed wilh which lhe year has passed and of summer plans. We have lallced, foo, during ihe year aboui lhe crowded halls and 'rhe new school, and so on. We have lallced ol our failures and successes. Behind all of lhe laik has been a good year ol scholaslic and exlraecurricular achievemenrs. H' has been a period of adiuslmenis, as will 'rhe nexi year. We can all say fo one anorher once again well done. Ar lhe close of rhis sernesler we are lalking also aboul our Superinlendenr, George E. Bellinger, recalling many pleasanl memories ol our years of associa- lion wilh him in lhis school syslem. We are speaking of him as a man ol unusual abilily, sincerily, lair dealing, poise, and good humor.
