These two have served the Annual since its inception. Their constant initiative and supervision have been the factors which have brought this vear's Annual to completion, in spite of wartime short- ages, restrictions and impediments at every turn. But even more than this, it has been their everlasting patience and helpful criticism which have helped to make the Teocalli a cherished tradition. With these facts in mind, the editors take great pleasure in dedicating the 1944 Teocalli to Mr. Lester M. Bonar and Mr. Ralph V. There has been a remendous increase in enrollmentg school buildings of today are better than most college buildings used to be: a greater variety of courses is being taught: the methods of teaching have been much improvedg and the students have a more active part in the school life. The fundamental purpose of high school, however, is the same today as it was in the School Days of yesterday-helping boys and girls to grow up to be young men and women. This progress of growing up involves intellectual, physical, and social develop- ment. At Mark Keppel High School there is ample opportunity for the education of the student in each of these three phases of growth. The newest of these is the Class Committee system of school management inaugurated this year. Each class was given specific jobs to do. . .taking care of social activities . . .seeing that the grounds were kept beautiful. . .taking care of our assemblies. , .many undertakings that have helped to make a very successful year. A notable achievement was the celebration of the first four years of a new school. Mark Keppel had become of age. . .one generation of students had passed through its doors. Assisted by students, faculty, and school officials, the Committee set out a number of trees to commemorate the anniversary. IIS! IHS!! JUMPING? ' Z 15? en UN05 llll : 1.
