Social Science Informing students on the culture, history and people of the world is the objective of the Social Studies Department. The Department curric- ulum includes six subjects offered from the seventh to the twelfth grades. Georgia History is concerned with the historical dev- elopment of Georgia and its inhabitants. World Georgraphy includes the study of man and his environ- ment throughout the world. Civics is concerned with the structure of the Ameri- can Government. Amer- ican History is a survey of the developement of the nation ' s heritage through the Civil War. Economics and Twent i eth-Cent u ry America are offered to upper classmen. Eco- nomics is the study of the use or management of resources to satisfy human wants as fully as possible. Twentieth Century America is concerned with Ameri- can history from the Civil War to the present. (standing, left to right) Mr, Law.
