DRAMA CLUB Getting in the Act Marist's first drama club, directed by Mrs. Lolly Jaqua, Worked throughout the year to surprise and prove to the students and parents that drama had a place and purpose at Marist. Through stuffed toy sales, car washes, help from fa- culty and students and the enthusiasm of club mem- bers, the club produced a puppet show The Purple- Necked Black Bearded Blatchj' and a one-act play The Outcasts of Poker Flat by Bret Hart. The puppet show was presented during the Christmas program and later at Montessori. Upon completing normal classes for the day, each stu- dent was free to use this forty-minute period for activi- ties. Furrowed brows marked several Spartans as they poured over checker boards, musical arrangements and statistic sheets. Less industrious students used their time to relax in the cafeteria or courtyard after a long day.
