Time of Promise The Freshman and Sophomore basketball teams provided great promise for the future by responding to the many chal- lenges which they faced this year. The season provided an opportunity for all players to gain valuable experience against tough opposition while preparing for Varsity compe- tition. Twelve different Freshmen played on the Sophomore team throughout the season, which is a good indication of the tre- mendous talent in the Class of 1981. The Sophomore team, coached by Nlr. Jim Olson, highlighted its season with a secs ond place finish in the Andrew High School Tournament. The Freshman team, coached by Mr. Rich Danek and Nlr. Tom Richardson, won a second place trophy in the Chicago Christian Tournament and finished with a combined A and B team record of 22-17. 1:45 5 if! 'll Q . l..sf g X 'T sf' W. rm

Hee Haw Over the years, Marist has introduced several new sports, soccer, wrestling, and golf, just to name a few. But no single sport, past or present, has had the impact of donkey basketball. Donkey basketball is a grueling sport. It requires skill, stamina, and a complete lack of dignity. Yet the appeal of this sport must lie in its simplicity. All that is needed is a court, a basketball, 10 people, 10 donkeys, and a large pail and shovel. Truly this sport stands as a milestone in the history of Marist High School. i ! , a i E Q
