X ' The NHS's major project of the year came in April when they held the annual Career Day. On this day 62 professions were represented. Throughout the year many unnoticed projects were taking place around the school. One such project was the tutoring program. Here many NHS members gave up their time after school to help other students. Although it was a good year for the NHS, it is only a beginning. It is hoped that the future will hold even bigger and brighter things. . , v..- 4 i 5'3

NH9 Offers Cultural Enrichment The '77-'78 year was one of growth for the National Honor Soci- ety. They aimed to fulfill their vow of service to the school commu- nity. The induction ceremony opened the year with 52 new members being accepted into the society. New and old members then went right to work by sponsoring a Gong Show which proved to some 900 people that Marist has some very talented people, along with a few clowns. Next a cultural assembly was held and the whole student body had a chance to experience the wit and humor of none other than Mark Twain. Second semester brought the second annual Art Contest. Over 25 of Marist's fine artists displayed their works, with awards going to the best works of art. Next the NHS pre- sented a concert for the entire student body - none other than Marist's own Band. The students enjoyed this since many of them never had the opportunity to hear just how fine a band Marist has. 2 . 7 'X Af 95.11

4 l Medical Report for Victim Unknown After a thorough investigation the following explanation of the victim's injuries has been recorded - He, the victim, apparently received the head injury from an encounter with a top door locker in his haste to meet the early bus. The broken tooth was explained by finding teeth fragments in the west drinking fountain along with a number of skidmarks identified as track members' sneakers round- ing the corner, through his determination he proceeded to make his bus deadline only to be affronted by a barrage of polevaulters simulating a jump. One over-anxious freshman missed and severed the right side of the victim from his per- son. No longer anticipating making the early bus, he headed for the nurse's office in search of survival and medical aid. Dragging himself by the little theater, he heard the faint sound of the tennis coach saying, Hit the Showers, and within seconds a herd of players trampled the still unknown victim. When the cloud of dust was gone, the battered body lay face down in front of the nurse's office below a sign that read: closed at 2:3O. -- This is where the body was found by myself and my investigation had begun.
