CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY Marist High School has a very unique retreat lor, if you prefer, encounter l program. Ask any seasoned Senior and you'll find that retreats and encounters are constantly being offered and are always available to the student. For a small fee, he is fed, given shelter, and in some programs, provided with transportation. When the retreat begins, he finds that there is a sense of Christian Community. He feels the relationship of the people around him growing with each day. Soon he begins to turn his attention towards discussion, friendship, and Christian attitude. There is a respectful silence in the group when faculty or fellow students are speaking. This is also a new experience for most of the students who are used to informal conversations in class. The retreat for some may be a myriad of new ex- periences, and for others just a fulfilling weekend: but, actually, the retreats and encounters attempt to propel the oneness that the school desires to represent, to make the system work better, and to achieve a Christian attitude in daily life.

THE MARIST STUDENT COUNCIL- A TRUE WORKING ORGANIZATION You can find the members of the Student Council hard at work in their office at almost any time during the day. After all, it's not an easy job channeling the voice of the student body to the faculty and administration, while at the same time organiz- ing activities like the Blood Drive, Homecoming, Ski Trips, and even new twists like Disco Night.
