Among them were, shorthand, typing I and ll, accounting, basic busi- ness, and clerical practice. All of these classes were led by the business instructor, Mrs. Mary Fussell. These classes were designed to aid the students as they at- tempted to enter the business world. Several different busi- ness concepts were introduced in many different ways. Home-ec cottage was moved to a new location on the southeast side of the high school. ln addition to moving, the department added a new class called world foods. The students cooked and studied foods from foreign lands. They had the help of a new microwave to make cooking faster and easier. At Christmas time, as a practical test, the world foods' class prepared Mexican goodies Home Ecu- oved To ew Location for the teachers. New Teacher Well-Received B Math Class Math classes had the privilege of meeting a new teacher, Mrs. Sylvia Thomas. Mrs. Thomas said she liked teaching at Mar- ionville and appreciated the way students treated her as a newcomer. She taught classes in basic math, consumer math, and algebra.
