Students attended demonstra- tions at the S.W. Mo. Research center at Mt. Vernon. Industrial Arts A T001 For The Future Most shop students felt that shop class was very beneficial for their future. It taught them to use tools properly and to make many utilitarian items of wood and metal. They made such items as desks, chairs, cabinets, stands. speaker cabinets, and barbecue tools made of iron. They also con- structed a float in the shape of a rocket for the Andy Finley is shown demonstrating how to cut a board on the radial arm saw in third hour shop. Ronnie Wright compares the size of the drill bit with the screw so he can use the drill. Mark Vanderhoof is shown sanding a drawer for his jewelry chest in prepara- tion for staining and finishing.
