1978's staff began the year by selling advertising space in the '78 COMET. Many days were spent drawing layouts , writing and proofreading captions and copies, and selling ads and the '78 COMET. New members quickly ex- perienced the difficulty of choosing and cropping pic- tures for their pages. The COMET Staff was headed by co-editors, 1. Hicks and S. Estes, co-business managers , E . Cook and R. Baldwin, and advisor, Mrs. Fussell. Returning members were T. Pendle- ton, J. Barger and R. Lambeth. New members were K. Wrinkle, D. Peiter, B. Burk, L. Yates, and C. Johns. They kept the li- brary in order so it was easy to find the books needed for research projects . Eighteen librarians worked in the elemen- tary, junior high, and high school.
