Twirlers Supported Band Performances X 4 Twirlers stayed after school many hours to set their routines together. They per- formed with hand at half-time of the foot- ball games , attended twirling camp for a week, helped band sell social security cards, marched in Christmas parades, and marched with band at SMSU marching contest. Band Strove For Excellence Mr. Charles Whisler, in his second year as band director at Marionville, stressed overall sound and marching techniques this year. New rifles and flags were pur- chased and added to the marching block as visual effects . The band marched in three parades , participated in the SMSU March- ing Band Festival for the second year, and presented five football halftime shows .
