The Science Club built a float for the Marionville Christmas Pa- rade. It carried the Science Club Queen, Lisa Leffingwell. FFA - Strived Toward Excellence President Mike Harmon started the year with the usual activities, such as Barnwarming, which was held on October 25, and the annual turkey shoot. As a new project, they ap plied for the National Chapter Award. In addi- tion, they had various oth er projects which would qualify them for the award. Food for Amer- ica educated younger children about farming life. A safety program was held to increase awareness about safety in the community. Another program called BOAC dealt with bettering our community. By doing this they qualified for the Na- tional Emblem Award. Barnwarming Queen, candidates and their escorts: Queen J. Dot- son, T. Band Strove For Excellence Mr. Charles Whisler, in his second year as band director at Marionville, stressed overall sound and marching techniques this year. New rifles and flags were pur- chased and added to the marching block as visual effects . The band marched in three parades , participated in the SMSU March- ing Band Festival for the second year, and presented five football halftime shows .
