Lifetime Sports Added Dimension To P.E. Mr. Dave Bassore, a new faculty mem- ber, taught life sports as a new class of- fered for MHS. Life sports taught many activities to students which would benefit them in the later years of life. Some of these were golf, bowling, card games, archery, and indoor group games. Coaches Randy Rader and Susan Alley su- pervised p.e. classes which supplemented the daily classroom grind with a recrea- tional break. Eldon Cook and Larry Eaton listen while Carol Farley and jonette Kasinger explain their version of pitch in lifetime sports. Andy Reavis exerts much effort in the military press during p, e, Laura Henderson, Lesa Leffingwell, Diana Thomas, and Denise Cox listen to Coach Alley's instructions for volleyball in p. e . Highwa To Better Tomorrow This year an everyday foundation in math was stressed. There were more advanced math classes to prepare students for col- lege or a career in a related field. Some subjects were algebra I gl ll, trigonom- etry and basic math ll. Teachers , Mr. Wyman Miller and Mr. Tom Evans, in- structed students in metrics giving them a working knowledge of the metric system. jon BeDell tries to prove his answer on the blackboard in geometry. .wir :li A . - ' 1 Third hour geometry hurries to finish their assignment before the bell.

Dr. Woodrow Franklin and Mr. David Squibb led students in science classes which included general science, biology, advanced biology, ecology, and chemis- try. Advanced biology students used fruit flies in their study of genetics . Students in chemistry studied chemical reactions , and what they produceg while ecology brought a better understanding of the en- vironment which surrounds us. General science laid a foundation for these ad- vanced studies .
