Library - The Gateway to Learning The library staff is composed of student librarians under the supervision of the librarian, Mrs. Susan Smith. Its purpose is to serve the student body. The library serves as a center for ob- taining all kinds of reference material, film strips, recordings, and books for serious, as well as leisure reading. Most librarians begin their training as freshmen during the year's last quarter. The following year they are prepared for the duties and responsi- bilities expected of library assistants. Each year new books and magazines are added in order to meet the needs of the students. Thus, the library con- tinues to grow and become more useful LIBRARY STAFF INCLUDES, left to right: J. ' -K M,,,.,., ilu-A t. - . Comet Staff . . . Planning for the 1966 Comet began last spring as soon as the last shipment for the '65 Comet was sent off. First, a theme and cover must be chosen. Then, come the layouts, pictures, copy, cuts, headlines, and, of course, lots and lots of work. All of these things are changed many, many times. Then, page by page, the Comet IS finished for one more year. A history, a memory book, a training for writers photographers, and salesmen, and people with a few spare minutes are wrapped up in a yearbook. The Comet staff hopes that each of you will find the pages of this yearbook as windows to friends, teachers, activities, and classes. EDITOR OLGA JOHNSON is pictured here as she plans a page in the Comet. SMILING STAFF MEMBERS, Linda Mooney- ham, Donna Blades, and Ann Stanton are on their way to sell ads. I0 FIRST YEAR COMET members, Pam Burk and Billy Redus, are aided by Mrs. Judy Askins, sponsor.
