At times the immediate atten- tion to curriculum, faculty, student, building, and financial problems may have overshadowed other concerns. It is refreshing though to look at Marion College in its Golden Anniversary year and see that the purposes of the founding fathers still abide. We salute Marion College that after fifty years, and the registration of 9629 students, it remains stedfast in service to God and our fellowmen. -W. Good- man In the Beginning The year 1872 iq saw the first institution of higher learning in Grant County.
