Wlisstssinema jiineteen Glen 0' MARION NORMAL COLLEGE MARION, INDIANA FE is a miracle, a mystery. It is a reaction to that whichtouches it without tqablilxq or within. If it be low and mean, it responds only to that which is narrow and insignificant. But human life comprehends all-the least and the ' 7 1 l ml 1 greatest While it may be narrow touched by nothing but the common 1 , x A4 yu place it may be divine attuned to the infinite The largest thing in man's life is man himself. Whether we shall see much or little, hear just noise or heavenly symphonies, create and live up to lofty ideals, or be prophets of evil and help to fulfil the prophecy by our own acts, rejoice in life and the opportunity to keep step with the Creator in working out His plans, or despise life and lend our influence to evil ends, depends in great measure upon human companionship. Each individual represented in these pages' is both giver and receiver. The one who gives most largely receives most largely. As the years go by, one of the large things, one of the green spots in memory will be the hopes and aspirations awakened by those with whom we have been associated, and the pleasure of following the various individuals through the years, rejoicing with them in their triumphs, sympathizing with them in their sorrows and defeats. If some shall reach the mountain peaks, with broader view and clearer vision, may they not forget to flash the light to those of us on the lower slopes, or perchance in the deepest valleys. Our hopes and aspirations, our inspiration and constant spur to achievement come from above, not below. Shall we not keep our eyes on the heights? 44 t fl Faeubf as xXx Zf 5 514 i President, CHAUNCEY WATSON BOUCHER, B. Professor of Mathematics Vice-President, MRS. CHAUNCEY WATSON BOUCHER, B.S., A.B.
