Under the excellent coaching of Hrs Kinney, this play pleased everyone - John Walsh played the part of Tom Sawyer in a way all his own Landon Long as Huclle berry Finn with h1s dead cat, and Robert Hodgin as Joe Harper provoked many laughs All the members of the cast played their parts well and deserved the congratula tlons for a piece of work well done

JUNIOR-SENIOR BANQUET On April 25, 1958, the Junior Class of Marion High School sponsored a ban- quet in honor of the Senior Class. The theme of the banquet was NThe Old Fash- ioned Gardenu.. , The walls of the gymnasium were covered with dogwood, redbud, and lilacs, and in the front of the room was a picket fence and arbor with honeysuckle and roses on it. In the center of the floor was a pool surrounded by moss, rocks, clumps of violets and ferns.: Along one side of the room were potted ferns, and numerous other potted flowers., Card tables were used and were decorated with flowered table cloths, napkins, etc. A corsage of violets was placed at each place, as a favor. Supper was served at 7:00 o'clock by the Home Economics girls under super- vision of Miss Humphreys. The menu con- sisted of Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered peas, pear and cheese salad, senior surprise, coffee and mints.
