We compliment the Staff of the Skirmisher and the Supervisor, Nlaior Woodfin, for the efforts made toward giving the Cadet Corps a newspaper to be proud of. The members of the OXB Staff know much about what it takes to publish something, whether newspaper or yearbook. The M '. -Skirm- isher is consistently kept on a high level, and we are expressing here a warm vote of Thanks to the Skirmisher Staff on the part of the whole Corps of Cadets. LEFT TO RIGHT: Cochran, Meyer, Little, Anthony, Hooper, Letscher, Oden. The Smarter Staff deserves cornmendation for their efforts to supply the Corps with a short weekly sheet filled with running-fire comments of interest to all. Being new and untried, Snorter was in developmental-experimental stage all during second semester, However, we feel that Snorter should go ahead next year and continue to fill in the gaps between issues of the regular school paper. The idea behind this weekly sheet is original, good, . . . we hope it will be continued and improved in the course of the vear i959-1960.

The M Club, made up of college boys who have lettered in a varsity sport at Marion, is the oldest and one of the most active clubs on campus. Members of the M Club are much in evidence at basketball games, at times when visiting teams arrive on campus, and render a very helpful hand to the organized sports in general. We salute them for their contributions to Marion Institute Athletics. gkeerdaclerzi I9 8 - 59 :Q fr 6, fl .N A t .NWS ...nsd ' FRONT, I.. to R.: LaMont, Madeline Small, Betty Williams, Bentley . . . We feel that the cheerleaders were a great help in achieving this high degree of school spirit.

They were organized in T950 and in nine short years have become one of Marion Military lnstitute's most prized organizations. The Knights are selected from the Corps of Cadets by a series of painstaking eliminations, Every Knight must be for above av- erage in drill ability, and he must be able to remember many complicated movements. The White Knights have performed in front of thousands of people in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Talladega, Dothan, Montgom- ery and New Orleans. Every year the Knights have to turn dovvn many invitations because of conflicts vvith school activities. This year under the command of Cadet Lt. E. l-l. Kincaid and close supervision of Marion Military lnstitute's assistant P. M. S. 8 T., Captain H. C. l-lolt, the Knights have had an exceptionally fine year. Capt. Holt, Military Supervisor
